Just imagine you did a next scan at a corner with a hall turning 90 degrees and Matterport due to the lack of data on both sides(before the corner and after it) did not identify correctly a corner angle. If you leave it like this you got totally wrong angle for the corner turn. However if you keep scanning near the corner next scans will be correcting the corner angle with every next scan around it.

However I suggest not to try to fill a pool in a dollhouse view with water as you will just spend a lot of time on it for Matterport to remove it later.

I can download it at 16K without breaking any terms of services, but especially with the Pro2 no big difference in image quality between 4k and 16k.

3 yearsWingman (4561): Just an extra note as I have noticed it during using a BLK360. If you wear a baseball hat make sure that you are not too close. That visor/bill(not sure what it is called exactly) on a hat can be captured by a spinning mirror if you are too close and do not even see it with your eyes.

It has happened to me in scans with more than 1000 points (with the pro2). But if it's misalignment, don't continue and waste time and work. As Dan say, then "Better call Mike" Our experience with him has been very good. Luck.

The Pro3 is good for outdoor scanning, no more broken artifacts like the Pro2, and that's about it. The Leicas and Faros of the world still reign as King in this domain. However even if a new model can do alignment in 1 second which I believe is unreal it is only saving 4 seconds on total of 34 seconds(30 seconds spin, 5 seconds transfer and 5 sec alignment). It does not look big that much even though it saves 10% time. More Ram is great but again I could do 1200 scans models easy with my Ipad so...

Our current target group is Matterport users, who pay for hosting anyway, and mostly b2b market on the enterprise level, where costs of multiple scanning and hosting are part of an investment plan. After all, the desktop version of STAGES works with any OBJ / FBX format, not only Matterport standard.
