Hey Team,

I have a block of 80 3D Matterport Tours I'm hosting for one of my real estate clients of jobs I shot over the past 2.5 years. They are now using another provider, and asked me to keep those tours all active.

What is a fair price I should charge for hosting. I'd rather transfer them to anyone else, but with Matterport's new hosting limits (I have a classic plan)... I'm probably stuck with them.

What would THEIR expense be if they opened up their own account with the new plans?

I charge $79 per year to host a tour. If someone asked for a bulk rate for 80, I would give them 30% off.

They could either get:

✓ one Matterport Professional account at $708 annually and archive them all
✓ two Matterport Professional accounts at $1,320 paid annually or $2,640
✓ one Matterport Business account at $3,228 (presently, can only be done annually)

@hometakes pricing of $79 each x 80 = $6,320 less 30 percent = $4,424

If you transfer the models to an account that they set up, according to Matterport, the copyright transfers too. I encourage you to read these posts about copyright:

That's my photo! A life lesson in copyrights.
Transfer the Model Also Transfers Copyright?

Since you have lost the client, you might consider charging a transfer fee – both because that takes you time and you are giving up your copyright.

At the very least, you should be charging your (current) cost: $2,640 That said, I would charge for "Hosting, Maintenance and Support" of at least what @hometakes does. Keep in mind that if the client did not need these models in the future, they would just delete them. So, they have value. And, every time that they want to use them, you may need to do something to them.

Please let us know what you decide to do and why.

Best,

Dan

@ron0987

When you archive a model in a Matterport New Pricing account, you can not view the model.

Then maybe in the big scheme of things why would anyone archive a model, short term there maybe benefits but for long term I don't see a benefit can anyone explain the thought process for this.
