| Hi All, A while back I built a website auditing tool, SiteScoreNow (http://www.sitescorenow.com), and the first thing I did was run every one of my own websites through it. I was honestly shocked. A lot of my sites were scoring in the 30s out of 100. So I rolled up my sleeves and went site by site fixing what the audits flagged. When I re-ran them through SiteScoreNow, the scores jumped into the 90s. The part that matters most: since making those changes, I've noticed a significant increase in traffic to my sites, and more importantly, more customers calling me and reaching out for work. If you're not familiar with the three terms in the title, here's a quick breakdown: SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the traditional practice of making your website rank higher in search engines like Google and Bing. It covers things like page titles, meta descriptions, headings, site speed, mobile friendliness, image alt text, internal linking, and making sure search engines can crawl and index your pages. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is about making your website easy for AI tools like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini to understand, trust, and cite. More and more people are asking AI "who does Matterport scans near me?" instead of typing into Google. GEO helps make sure your business is part of that answer. Clear business information, structured data (schema), consistent name/address/phone across the web, and content that demonstrates real expertise all play a role. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) focuses on getting your content pulled in as the direct answer to a question, such as Google featured snippets, "People Also Ask" boxes, and voice assistants like Siri and Alexa. Think FAQ sections, concise answers to common customer questions, and content written the way people actually ask questions. The short version: SEO gets you found in search results, GEO gets you recommended by AI, and AEO gets you chosen as the answer. Here's the moment it really clicked for me. A week before I even publicly posted the link to the We Get Around Network Find a Pro Map (https://map.wegetaroundnetwork.com), a lead came in. When I reached out to the client, he told me his AI assistant, Instinct, which runs through WhatsApp, not only found the map on its own but also filled out the Hire a Pro form for him. All of that happened before any search engine had even crawled the page. Let that sink in. No Google ranking, no ad, no announcement. An AI agent found the page, understood what it was, and submitted a lead on behalf of a real customer. That's GEO and AEO in action, and it's a big reason I think every business in our industry needs to be paying attention to how AI sees their website, not just how Google sees it. There are plenty of website auditing tools out there, from Google PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse to Google Search Console and a long list of paid platforms. Whatever tool you use, I'd encourage you to find out where your site actually stands. You might be surprised, like I was. So I'm curious: Have you run your website through an auditing tool? What was your score? What have you done to improve your SEO, GEO, and AEO? Have you seen a difference in traffic or inquiries from AI tools like ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews? Has an AI assistant ever sent you a lead or filled out a form on your site? Looking forward to hearing what's working for everyone. Tom |

| For something 6 months old, your score tool is pretty good. It has some elements and gives a taste by showing things that they can do to help not only their score but to try and attract new business A Claude prompt would be "Please look at [domain name] and tell me what's wrong with the site, what's wrong with their Google Business Profile, and anything else related to their internet success." "You are a top 1% expert in all of these categories, so please review like that with your answer. " I was around before Google and have seen tools where clients came back saying, "I don't score." Then I'd show them sites that "don't score," and yet they're number one on Google. If they called the client, the client would say, "We get a ton of phone calls," so it's good to have the tool. Just make sure that you follow through with everything. I looked at the free part of your tool, and it looks good. I did not pay for the $99 to get the full report. I'm glad you're bringing this up because, even though you all talk about cameras and this and that, knowing how to build a website and build your internet success is more important than a camera. I don't see another platform that talks about it like they should. Good luck in this, and I'll give my two cents as time goes on. There's a lot to cover, a lot to write about. There are so many things that make up a good presence and that make people money. It's not just "flick this switch and everything is good." This is a great start. I hope you continue and people participate, because sharing what works and what doesn't work can help the group to brand themselves better. That's the key: being seen everywhere and being seen as the choice is what pays the bills. |
