During a recent visit to Italy, I thought it would be fun to 3D scan a local gelato shop and use AI-generated 3D environments to explore the history of gelato. We used a combination of technologies: XGRIDS PortalCam for reality capture, WorldLabs to generate the historical 3D Gaussian Splatting scenes, and ElevenLabs for the AI narration. Special thanks to Marco Dema of Gelato Marco for letting us map his shop, and to Maria Sanchez for the video editing. You can explore the interactive 3D model of Gelato Marco here (best viewed on desktop): https://superspl.at/scene/7769d66c |
