[R&D] Kent Library Kids’ Area: VR Spatial Pre-Visualization Tosolini 1 6 daysTosolini (4713): https://youtu.be/HHPdE_YHdro To assist in the design of a new children’s section at the Kent Library in Washington, we developed a VR experience that combines real-world captures with 3D assets. By integrating 3D Gaussian Splatting data from an XGRIDS PortalCam with 3D meshes in Unity, we created a spatial representation of the planned area. The primary objective is to test scale and accessibility. Within the VR environment, users can...

[R&D] AI Museum Guide & 3D Interactive Kiosk: Soyuz TMA-14 Prototype Tosolini 1 2 monthsTosolini (4713): https://youtu.be/vNH-ZRsbpEg?si=SRS1fVTL7XtlAAfZ Explore our latest prototype demonstrating the future of interactive museum kiosks. Developed by Tosolini Productions in partnership with The Museum of Flight in Seattle WA, this project combines high-fidelity 3D scanning with AI-generated storytelling. The experience centers on a digital twin of the Soyuz TMA-14 Descent Module. Users can engage with the history of the craft in two ways: by...
Scanned in Italy: XGRIDS PortalCam 3D Walkthroughs Tosolini 9 3 monthsTosolini (4713): @realwalk3D I think the PortalCam might not be the ideal device for very large spaces. For that, the XGRIDS K1 and L2 are probably best suited. This is a good question for the XGRIDS community on Facebook, where other scanner owners can share their experiences. Sometimes renting a unit before purchasing it can help make a decision.
[R&D] Exploring a MakerSpace in 3D | Gaussian Splatting Virtual Tour Tosolini 8 4 monthsDanSmigrod (32546): @Tosolini Thank you for sharing. It's amazing what is possible. I love how the tour begins with the aerial fly-in to the campus. Happy holidays, Dan
[R&D] Interactive 3D Retail Experience | No-Code Workflow with XGRIDS Tosolini 3 4 monthsTosolini (4713): Hi @wingman, it's weird that by connecting to the URL below you don't see any information on the right side of the screen. It should show up from the beginning (title, description, photo). Do you see the navigation (two arrows) on the bottom? If so, can you click them and see if they rotate the info? https://web.intuiface.com/potterybarn (desktop only)
XGrids, Portalcam? Noddy 21 5 monthsTosolini (4713): @aerialpixels I own a PortalCam but I don't have any PC/GPU as I use a Mac. Therefore, I can't leverage the free LCC software license that I received with the camera. At this time, I'm processing all my scans through the LCC Cloud using some free codes courtesy of XGRIDS. I tried to rent some GPUs online, but the process is not very smooth. To answer your question: I'm not 100% sure that you can own a PortalCam and get away...

[R&D] Turning LiDAR Scans into Interactive 3D with Gaussian Splatting Tosolini 7 11 monthsRealwalk3D (168): @Tosolini Tosolini Sorry for writing back so late. Unfortunately, I haven't found a golden mean to transfer projects to Gausian. It can probably be done by extracting TILES from the 360 panorama - but I think it's too much work to do. Nevertheless, on average every month I pester RealSee to introduce a tool that will allow you to create or prepare ready-made solutions for Gausian Splating. You can't count on...
