| Hi guys i would like to know how long it took me from first to last scan of a session. Inside the editor there is no timestamp (only the main date/time) and checking the raw data is useless because every file is created at the moment the compressed file is created. Do you know if there is some way? Of course i can bring a stopwatch but i would like to see that on my old projects. Thank you very much p.s. the MP support has been quite useless, like often happens, unfortunately. |

| Hi @RMB3DVR I’m not aware of any way of interrogating the system retrospectively. My method is to send myself a WhatsApp message at the start and finish which are time-stamped. I do the same for breaks, and any enforced stoppages, noting what the break relates to. The data is useful for planning and costing once you aggregate the information. Oliver |

| @RMB3DVR I've done a LOT of scans and haven't seen any timestamps like that. just curious, what's the use case? I typically do what @Gladsmuir said, and keep a record via notes or text message to myself if I need to know timing for anything but rarely do I need that information. email support and in the subject line put Feature Request: show timestamps of scans. that may get someones attention. | I’ve been struggling with the same thing: Matterport doesn’t show session duration. At least you can now see the scanpoint, camera and date. What does work well in practice is using a very simple time tracking app on the same device you scan with, and building the habit of “one tap when you start scanning, one tap when you finish.“ There are a few options that are worth looking at: • Clockify – Cross‑platform time tracking with projects and clients (iOS, iPadOS, Android, macOS, Windows, web): https://clockify.me You can create a project like “Matterport Scan” (or one per client) and just start/stop a timer when you begin and end a scan. The reports make it easy to see exactly how long you were on‑site and to export that for invoicing. • TimeTrack – Time tracking – Native iPhone/iPad app with cloud sync and optional Mac/Web access: https://apps.apple.com/app/timetrack-time-tracking/id905723113 Very quick to use in the field, even offline. • WorkingHours – Cross‑platform time tracking for iOS, iPadOS, macOS and Windows, sync via iCloud/OneDrive/Dropbox: https://workinghoursapp.com Simple timers and widgets, and for recurring locations you can even use its optional location‑based automation (start/stop when you arrive/leave a specific address). For most scanning jobs, though, the “one tap at start and end” workflow is already enough. |

| Thank you everyone. I will do that for the future but would have been nice to being able to see it on old projects. I'm trying to create a proper offer tool and it would have been really useful to have that info. |

| Not sure either (never needed to know) but sort of related... I wanted to know how many spins my Pro2 has made, MP says no data collected on that! | ||

| Hi @GETMYVR, Matterport cameras transfer all their data to the iPad or device for processing, leaving no trace behind. This is one of the advantages of Matterport: the iPad handles all the heavy lifting. As soon as it transfers the data, the Matterport is ready to scan again. The Leica BLK 360, for example, processes the data in the camera, so you have to wait for it to complete before undertaking an additional scan. So, no, no trace of the number of spins is retained on the camera. Cheers! Oliver |
