Matterport Capture 5.54 app disallows Leica BLK: Need pre v5.54 Capture?21409

| Hello Dan and fellow Matterporters! I've been walking 360º around Pro1,2,3's (or hiding from) for about 9 years now. Sunnyvale has really broken my heart with their latest release of Capture App v 5.54 disallowing use of a Leica BLK. That refers the Matterport workspace little more than a clever toy for me as I require the accuracy of the Leica BLK and love the Matterport 3D Model experience. Does anyone know where I might download a pre v 5.54 Matterport Capture app for iPad ? Really in a jam Best, John |

| @HUBCAM Ugh! Matterport Support confirms (here) that Leica BLK360 General One (G1) is no longer supported, as of 4 August 2025. Yes. That is disappointing for anyone that invested in a BLK360 G1 specifically for use with Matterport. Have you checked with Matterport Support to see if they will provided you with access to a pre v 5.54 Matterport Capture app for iPad? "Version 5.53 is the last version of the iOS Matterport app that supports scanning with the BLK360 G1." I wonder what others are doing that are in the same pickle?! Dan |

| I have an older iPad still running Version 5.53 ~ If you have any older devices you might check their version #'s otherwise you may be looking for someones iOS or android device with an older version of software and turn off auto updates | ||

| Thanks Dan. I cannot be the only person that hangs on to older gear. I probably have 6 or 7 iPads laying around many of which have showcase (which is also a legacy product) these come in handy during home show season to have access to offline models. If you have some older iPads you might double check to see if one of your older devices has the older capture app on it |

A word of warning @Hubcam: I tried keeping an old backup of my iPad including the old version of the Capture App. Unfortunately it turns out iOS had some kind of critical update around that time so when I retro restored the old backup the iPad wouldn’t work anymore. I got it fixed at the Apple Store but had to download the latest version of the Matterport Capture App  Leica doesn’t have an affordable option to run the BLK which makes Matterport’s discontinuation of support all the more disappointing. |

| I never stick to the old stuff. Over is over and the show must go on. Furthermore I‘ve never liked the BLK G1 as it is too slow. No competitive pricing possible. Labour cost is too high. It is easier to rent the new devices and provide an up to date Service. Maybe with another platform than Matterport. | ||

| I explained before on the forum how you can still use Blk360 even after Matterport shuts down its support in new versions of the Capture app. I think they even copied my guide and advised to do the same to anyone who wants to continue to use it. Unfortunately it is too late as you do not just need an old version of their app but also an old version of IOS as Matterport warned that it won't work also after updating IOS. You may try to find an ipad in the version of IOS before BLK360 was shut down and somehow sideload old version of the capture app. Or I have an iPad that is locked to the version of the capture app and IOS that still works with a BLK360 but I will sell it only with my BLK360. I can add a Pro2 and an old Matterport account for it and a cool domain name( matterport.services ) too if you are interested. I cannot sell just the iPad alone as my Blk360 won't be in use at all without this iPad. |
