Yay!

I received my Panono Panoramic Ball Camera today (15 June 2016) along with some accessories. (I ordered it almost 3 years ago (!), when it was an Indiegogo project.

While this 360º spherical camera will NOT replace a Matterport Pro 3D Camera, I taking related tech for a spin to see how We Get Around - and the Matterport User Group Forum community - might use Panono to offer additional services (360ºs outdoors? Google Maps?)

Once I have had a change to play with the Panono, I will post about it here.

In the mean time, if you have a Panono, please share your experience with it here (along with some 360º spherical image examples.

Best,

Dan

@3DscannUK Let's hope so! I may not get to play with it until the 4 July 2016 holiday. Thank you for your patience.

Looks like it's coming in around $1,500. Expensive for the ProHobbiest but not bad for a professional. Really cool camera. I'ts going to be fun to see all the applications use it for.

@Showcas3D

Can you start a new thread and post Samsung Gear 360 examples?

At least a few other Members have a Samsung Gear 360. It would be fun to see examples and here comments about the camera too from you and other MUG Forum Members.

It's been almost two weeks since I received our Panono. I have been so focused on workflow for Ricoh Theta that I have not had a chance to play with it yet. Stay tuned ...

Best,

Dan

I just ordered one Panono online. It was 1800 usd with shipping. I purchased the camera, a bodyglove case, a carrying case, a stick and a trippd adapter.

As soon as I receive it I will also share.

Best,

Manolo

Interested to see results from inside buildings. Wish they would add the OSC API(open spherical camera).

@TrustedPhotoDC

Here's a Panono inside a restaurant ...

https://www.panono.com/p/K541yEevWizG

What I learned from this one is that my niece and I are too close to the Panono Camera, so we are distorted.

While I would have preferred to have placed the Camera in the middle of our table, the size and placement of the Camera would have upset some family members.

Surprisingly, the restaurant lighting was unusually light for the evening.

Thanks Dan, Image looks pretty good. Interesting stitch error in the Sal-Gria Saturday poster(was there any AC blowing?) Noise is ok with a slower shutter(motion blur) but over all looks pretty good indoors.

FYI you will get distortion depending on the FOV. If you zoom into your head, you will see it goes away.

It´s very easy to use Full 360-Panoramas on facebook. You just need to edit the exif data to RICOH THETA S, explained here: https://facebook360.fb.com/editing-360-photos-injecting-metadata/
