Were you billed for Free Floorplan/Free Matterpak Day?15511

I usually order my floorplans through Captur3d.io but took Matterport up on their "free floorplan" offer of August 2nd, as well as the Matterpak download for August 3rd (even though I really didn't need it... just did it to play around).

Of course, I've now been charged for both! Anyone else in this predicament?

I bet it is usual Matterport oops. I would ask them to refund if they offered it for free.

I wanted to get Matter pack to play with it but was too late.

I did sent an email to support@matterport.com. I'm sure they'll post a credit, but you would think they would have figured out the way to work this out with billing before offering it.

I could imagine that you have a Matterport Classic Cloud account and are not eligible. (Yet another way Matterport poorly treats its early adopters.)

I do have a classic account, and it is a classic BUSINESS account ($149/month), and offer clearly said it was for Professional, Professional Plus, and Business Customers so it was my understanding that just the Basic accounts were excluded. It was also pushed to me on the my.matterport account.

Perhaps there was a different offer in Canada.

The offer was emailed to me as well as pushed in the Matterport Cloud portal.

If you look at the fine print (above), it appears to exclude Matterport Classic Cloud accounts by ommission:

"Current Professional, Professional Plus, and Business customers."

I could be wrong, but my impression is that Matterport does NOT consider Classic: "Current Professional, Professional Plus, and Business customers."

It will be interesting to see what Matterport Support writes back to you.

I have a BUSINESS account too. But, on my Matterport Cloud account, it says:
Business (Classic)/Annual Plan (Please see above).

I could imagine that Matterport considers these two account types different:

1. Business/Annual Plan
2. Business (Classic)/Annual Plan

Thus, you and I got charged for the "free" floor plan.

Please do share the Matterport Support reply. I will do the same.

I saw this on my statement so I called support. I have a Professional plan and of course clicked on the offer (which popped up while I was processing a job) for a free Matterpak, one-day only. The notice said to just order it under add-ons and there would be no bill. Well, I did it... and there it is on my bill for $49.

Here's what they told me on the phone: This offer was "only for the first 1,000 orders" (!). Did anyone see verbiage like that on the offer? There was no such information on the notice I saw. It didn't say "order one and maybe you'll be lucky and not have to pay if you are one of the first thousand." I wouldn't have done it.

Later, on the line, she said that my order was one of the "first 2,000" (threshold of the offer changed?) and therefore while the item is listed on my bill, I was not actually charged for it.

Check to see if your actual charges include the item(s) in question.

Still no idea where the "first thousand/first two thousand" stuff came from.

I read the small print on this offer – both for a free floor plan and a free MatterPak. I did NOT see:

"only for the first 1,000 orders"
"first 2,000"

1. were you charged?
2. If so, did Matterport reverse the charge?

Ok, well FWIW. I ordered/received a Matterpack. It shows on invoice, but is credited at the bottom. Amex was only charged for Subscription cost amount.
