WGAN-TV Real Estate Media Services and Pricing-#1599-What Are The Important Takes So Far

Hi All,

In this WGAN-TV Short Story (#1599, above) Real Estate Photographer Pro Course Creator Eli Jones talks about why his Matterport Service Provider business (Ft. Worth, Texas based-Norman & Young) charges a flat fee of $155 for a Matterport Digital Twin (and $65 for floor plans): regardless of the size of the listing.

Plus: No Bundles (other than Floor Plans which require a Matterport tour) | No Discount Packages

Your thoughts?

Best,

Dan

He seems to have changed it now, he is offering a tiered package for 3D tours

Up to 3000 sq ft $165
3000-5000 sq ft $195
5000 sq ft +, call him for a custom quote
3D labeled floor plan $45 add on

@Home3D
@Letsshoot

I'm not sure that it is in the video above, but the Norman & Young pricing flat pricing is for Matterport residential shoots.

While Norman & Young have a couple of tiers, Eli let me know that nearly all the shoots are invoiced at the 1st tier pricing and only have the other tiers to protect themselves from 10,000 SQ FT and above residential shoots.

@Letsshoot

Thanks for posting the pricing from the Norman & Young website.

Hi All,

The "big picture" takeaway from my interview with Eli is should you simplify your Matterport pricing rather that tiered pricing and/or bundles/packages. The full interview is a good start for re-thinking pricing specifically for Matterport and in general for other photography services.

Best,

Dan

Keep this in mind guys: the price/quality mix that you can offer in the Dallas Ft Worth Metroplex (population 6 million) is significantly different than what you can get away with in a smaller market.

There are probably 20k (or more?) active listings in DFW now. If you get 10% market share you might be doing 700 shoots/month.

But- If you're in a market with 1,000 (or 500) active listings you're going to need a much higher market share (a better value) to make a good living.

Seems like he's leaving money on the table. Are people happy collecting sub $250 for a 3,000 SF space?
