Hey, I recently purchased a PRO2 camera and I'm looking to upgrade my current tripod. Which tripod would you guys recommend to use only for my PRO2?

Also, any link for a carrying case?

Thank you!

That's actually the one I was contemplating to buy. Will do!

Regarding the case, I will wait for black Friday hoping we get some deals as they are kinda expensive! Isnt it dangerous to have the lenses exposed like that?

@rodrigocastillo

I've had no issues with this case when the camera isn't in use it's in the case & closed or being charged. I have 3 of these Nanuk's and then a Big old Tiger Pro case that I had gotten for our first Matterport camera. It was a big wheeled case that was far to big and bulky to want to lug around. I thought the wheels would be nice but, with weather no way would I want to roll the case through the general grime and into a clients home or business. So, I switched over to these Nanuk's

Hi @rodrigocastillo

Welcome to the WGAN Forum.

Here is the WGAN Matterport Gear Shopping List that I curate:

WGAN Matterport Gear Shopping List

For a Matterport Pro series camera, I recommend:

Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 4 section aluminum tripod

The four section tripod will:

1. Fit it a roller board suitcase (when flying comes back!)
2. Give you more options for height, when scanning

I write about it here:

Gear of the Week: Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 4-Section Aluminum Tripod

Dan

P.S. For more tripod options, please see:

Hi, congratulations on your purchase, and the best of luck with your business.
I've bought 4 different Manfrotto tripods over 40 years, and I still use all of them.
The one I regard as best for the Matterport is Manfrotto 190XPRO Aluminium 4 Section Tripod with Horizontal Column.
The reasons for this model are that you can drop it lower than the 3 section version, and the metal, rather than polycarbon version is heavier, so it is a little more stable.
I also suggest Neewer Photography Tripod Dolly, Heavy Duty with Larger 3-inch Rubber Wheels, Adjustable Leg Mounts and Carry Bag for Tripods, Light Stands for Photo Video Lighting, Load up to 50 pounds
for larger shoots.
They do two versions, the one with 3 inch wheels is much, much better.
I'm in Europe, so I bought my case from clickable text and found the product and service good.
I bought the only case they did at the time, the Matterport Case 5000, but would upgrade to the slightly larger Matterport Case 6600 if I was buying again.
Again, the best of luck for the future.
Oliver

@Gladsmuir

I shoot mostly residential properties so, I rarely use mine as it slows me down in homes
