Hi All,

If you are using Matterport for fire and water damage insurance claim documentation, please share your experience in this discussion (or, feel free to start a new topic.

Plus, are you able to import Matterport data into Xactimate or are you measuring within Matterport Workshop 3.0 to create the Xactimate plan?

Best,

Dan

@Jwbuckl

Thanks for sharing.

It's a "must watch" video for Matterport Service Providers - to understand insurance documentation - and for adjusters that are still using a tape measure and taking photos.

Key Takeaways

✓ Document loss (better than existing processes)
✓ Stakeholders: Insurance Company, Adjusters, Lawyers (litigation)
✓ Measurements + Photography (plus, after-the-fact storytelling including in VR)
✓ Better photos (SnapShots from any view)
✓ More reliable documentation that existing/old ways
✓ For litigation, tells a story for jury to feel the gravity of the loss

Best,

Dan

P.S. I could kick myself. My wife and I experienced three water damage events (unrelated) within the course of two years. I wished I had done Matterport at the time of each loss. Everyone measured our home and more than once: adjusters, general contractor, remediation company, sub-contractors (floors, walls). Plus, there was some back-and-forth between the general contractor and insurance company that could have easily been expedited with a Matterport 3D Tour.
