Hi All,

✓ Are you as busy shooting Matterport and DSLR of real estate that you would like to be?
✓ Are you just getting started with Matterport and DSLR photography?
✓ Would you like experience in workflow?
✓ Just got your FAA drone license and seek paid gigs for practice?

You might sign up for job opening alerts via Indeed for "Matterport" and "Photographer" ... I have noticed even contractor positions (not W2 opportunities) show up too.

While these positions may not pay as much as you would like, they may check-the-box for one of your challenges (above).

Your thoughts?

Best,

Dan

This sounds like a great opportunity to earn while you learn. Taking a job like this is a great way to hone your skills without the risk of purchasing expensive hardware and software. This is a great option to start before forking out the time and money to start your own business.

Go to plumbing school and get a plumbing license. On Easter Sunday, I had to call a plumber for a main sewer line backup that was back-flowing into our basement. Charge was $825 for about an hour and a half onsite.

The world needs more plumbers and not photographers.

The fact of the matter is that is possible to make a decent living as a real estate photographer. $1000 a week is not a bad wage, especially considering that photographers as a whole only make around $35k a year and the median household income in the US is about $56k annually.

So, this begs the question, What is a realistic income expectation for a real estate photographer and/or Matterport Service Provider?

I would say that it is certainly possible to earn $50k - $100k a year as a full time photographer/MSP, but I would be surprised to hear that the majority of MSPs expect to earn >$150k, especially in their first year or two of operation. Do we as MSPs have unrealistic expectations when it comes to earning potential?...maybe?
