I was shooting panos with my Ricoh Theta S last night and posting them to google maps to improve my Google local Guide points and noticed the following:
I shot 4 panos inside the restaurant and posted it to his photos on google maps. The result is that google connected them all like a virtual tour. Not a Matterport experience, but Check this out:clickable text

Hello.
So, google automatically knit theme into one photo? What is the delay time between those photos?
Thank you!

@3DPLUS My intention was not to connect the photos. Google just automatically did it. The photos were taken about 5 paces apart. Time between shooting the photos about 30 seconds. Time for Theta S to render HDR is about 20 seconds and about 10 seconds for me to hide.

Does your camera put a GPS stamp on the picture?

@justinv As I understand the GPS stamp is Where the iPhone is and not the Camera on the Ricoh Theta S

Cool!

I noticed people in the 360ºs. Any concern? Will Google blur the faces?

@DanSmigrod They are all crew and are aware that they are live on google. I will remove these images after a proper shoot next week. I am going to try to get an outside integration into the inside of the restaurant and also do a CUPIX run for comparison next week.

@leonvanzweel

Great!

Can you post a Google Local Guides screen grab and explain how you get points, what the tiers are and what you get at those tiers? Or, include a link?

Thanks,

Dan

@DanSmigrod It is pretty easy to join once you can find the right pages on google. One thing is for sure - Google needs some Apple engineers to make their stuff a bit more intuitive. Start with clickable text

And then you can search any relevant topic on the local guides connect page at: clickable text
