![]() Hi All, This one made me laugh, then made me think. ![]() It's the old mechanic's price list ("$75 if you watch, $100 if you help" I scan: $500 I scan, you watch: $800 I scan, you advise: $1,000 I scan, you help: $1,500 You scan, I help: $2,000 You scan, I advise: $3,500 You scan, I watch: $5,000 You scan, I review: $8,000 It's a joke, but there's a real point underneath it. As DIY capture gets easier (phone LiDAR, self-serve apps, "we'll just have the super do it" So I'm curious: 1. Have you ever been hired to fix or "review" a client's DIY scan? How did it go? 2. Do you charge more for cleanup/QA work than for a fresh capture? Or do you just insist on rescanning? 3. How do you explain to a client (like our happy architect on the right ) why "you scan, I review" isn't the budget option?Bonus: Add your own line to the price list. Best one wins bragging rights. ![]() Best, Tom |

| "Rescue jobs"? (lol). I have had three in the last 12 months. I am so glad that these platforms always say "it's easy" when they sell a pricy 12 month subscription to my new clients (haha). Seriously, it is easy if you have ever used the old technology so know what its limitations are. Selling a doctor a new machine with that line works because he spent six years studying medicine. My rescue jobs earnt me a whole heap of new clients that I wouldn't have had otherwise. They learnt that it wasn't as expensive as they thought to outsouce afterall. |
