Commercial UAV Expo is a We Get Around Network Marketing Partner

Commercial UAV Expo has named Harris Aerial, Skyline Nav AI, and UtopiaCompression Corporation the three winners of its annual Pitch the Press competition. The winners were announced in Las Vegas on September 3, 2026, during the show's run at Caesars Forum from September 1 to 3.

Pitch the Press gives exhibitors a shot at putting their newest product in front of working drone industry journalists. Fourteen exhibitors were selected from a large pool of applicants for the one hour event, with each company delivering a two minute elevator pitch followed by a short Q&A. This year's judges were David Oakes, Editor at US Drone Review, Haye Kesteloo, Owner of DroneXL.CO, and Patrick Egan, CEO of sUAS News USA. They scored the pitches on innovation and potential for ROI to pick the top three. Matt Collins, Content Manager with Commercial UAV News, moderated.

Harris Aerial presented the H4C Quad, a compact medium lift drone that is NDAA compliant and payload agnostic, hitting the market later this year. The judges called out the company's humble beginnings and its commitment to stateside manufacturing as a significant shift in the market, and liked that the H4C Quad ships as a complete system rather than a component. Skyline Nav AI showed Pathfinder Edge, a lightweight plug and play hardware box that delivers precise GPS independent navigation using advanced computer navigation. The judges pointed to the mission behind it, positioning it as an essential tool for public safety flights. UtopiaCompression presented Aero Vision Detect, and the judges recognized that aircraft detection only gets more critical as drone traffic increases.

"The presentations, and the buzz around them, at this year's Pitch the Press was one of the highlights of the day," said Matt Collins. He added that the three winning companies showcased solutions filling real needs in the current market.

The rest of this year's Pitch the Press lineup included Amazon, EagleNXT, EVBots, GeoCue, Infinite Electronics, RIEGL, TENSAR, ThinkOrbital, UAS Sentry, Unmanned Safety Institute, WEFLO, and Flyguys. If you shoot aerial for real estate, construction progress, or AEC deliverables, this is the room where next season's hardware gets introduced.
