I brought the Realsee Galois P4 to an 8,000 square foot commercial building in Berkeley, California and handed it to someone who had never touched a Realsee camera before. Emily Olman of Hopscotch Interactive has been scanning the built environment for years, so this is a first impressions test on a working commercial space instead of a controlled demo. The Galois P4 is a LiDAR camera aimed at commercial and AEC work. It shoots 24K resolution panoramas, runs a 16 second scan, captures 125,600 scan points per second across five stops, and stores everything on 512GB of onboard storage. It ships with a Manfrotto 190 carbon fiber tripod and a twist lock quick release plate. Two features stood out on site. The first is device free capture: long press the button, walk away, and the camera scans without your phone, which adds about five seconds to the cycle and still lands under the Matterport Pro 3 scan time. The second is de-ghosting. Emily walked straight through an active scan and into a glass reflection, and neither of us showed up in the panorama. We covered roughly 8,000 square feet in about 30 minutes with breaks, and the project data reported 7,530 square feet captured. Switching to high image quality and high density pushed a single scan to about a minute, which is the same tradeoff you already know from the Pro 3 and Leica.

The camera is $7,400 and change, and the hosting model is the part worth studying. There is no hosting subscription. You upload, process, and view a tour for free, and you only spend a credit when you activate and share it. One credit hosts one tour for one month. Credits run $3 each at 40 credits for $120, and the bulk rate drops to about $2.25 per credit at 675 credits. There is also a 24 hour free temporary link for sending a preview. Emily made the point that this fits two situations Matterport users complain about constantly: commercial listings that sit for a year or two while permitting and transactions drag on, and residential seasonality where June looks nothing like December. Budget $12 a year to host a tour and let the volume float.

On deliverables, the AI generated floor plan is free, and you can edit room labels, redraw walls, and change the property type yourself instead of going back to a drafter. Manual drafting is five credits with a two business day turnaround, or an additional five credits for next day. The E57 point cloud export runs 20 credits. Space videos, GIFs, whole house videos, and a floor plan linked video are in the add ons menu, along with Google Street View publishing. I pulled E57 files of a commercial space from both cameras at default settings, and the P4 file came in at about 1.6GB against 2.5GB from the Pro 3. I am bringing in someone who can properly compare those two point clouds in a follow up. Open questions we are taking back to Realsee: leveling tolerance, whether the platform notifies you before a tour expires, what happens to a tour after expiration, and whether credits are transferable or refundable.
