Hi Tom,
The Sheppard’s Irish Auction House tour of Stradbally Hall was special on so many levels.
Having only seen the house in the distance when attending The Electric Picnic, a three-day music festival, it was a real treat to see inside the house.
The tour was to publicise the auction, so within two weeks it had done its job.
The team from the auctioneers spent weeks removing almost all the contents of the house and replacing them with auction items.
So the ephemeral Stradbally Hall tour is my favourite this year, although we completed one this week which may rival it!

Hi Tom,
Yes the Pro3.
Arrived at 9.00 am, by the time we got the team to sort out some last minute tweaks it was 10.30 before we could start.
We were wrapped and back out the drive by about 3.30pm.
The Cosby family have lived there for 450 years, about 200 years before The Declaration of Independence!
The family have a colourful history and the current owner is very hands on doing an extensive renovation.
It feels such an honour to get to visit these magnificent buildings, and get paid for it!!!!!
BTW from first scan to delivering the tagged model was 24 hours.

Hi, I don't have a particularly interesting 3D tour that I made this year (so far), but I do have my first attempt at a 360 property video.

It's not a property for sale. It is a restoration of a 100 year old hideaway cottage built by the founder of a philosphy institute.

For this job I had Andrii Shramko custom buid a drone gimbal to suspend an Insta360 X4 from my Inspire2. The gimbal counter acts the pedulum sway and the wind with its own inbuilt FPV drone propellors (automatically). You can see Andrii's explanation here:

It also features environmetal sound professionally recorded on-site by my good friend and associate Kevin Doyle Jnr.

The inside of the building used a camera fly wire and automated slider which I deleted using a LatLongPathcher in Davinci Resolve Studio. Unfortunately I learned in post production that the deletion does not work well in scenes where the camera moves at a diagonal so I had to leave the slider visible in one of the scenes. You can check out the process for editing in Davinci Fusion in my blog article here: https://danieljohnbrown.com

For me this was the first ever paid for 360 video I have done. I have been experimenting with 360 video cameras since the Insta360 One-X and have bought and sold 2 of them as well as an X3 and the Insta360 Sphere with a DJI Air2, so I was really glad to make the money back on this production.

I hope to grow this avenue of work. The client has said they want to do another for a different property soon. I am thinking of upgrading the kit to do something in native 12K. This one was upscaled using Video AI by Topaz labs to 12K and then supersampled in Youtube. For the new camera I will have to find a player that will support that and Andrii will make me a suitable camera. If anyone has a useful platform or knows how to set up a 12K 360 video player in EC2 etc. please contact me (dbrown@meidansha.com).

That's probably the biggest I have done in the last 3 years. Two visits, merging two tours as for some reason I could not add any scan to the one done in the first visit despite trying to continue from a well defined objects around. Merge screw up floors so I had to disable floor selector.
There is still some area left to scan, was booked in July to finish but my client asked to postpone it.

BTW, if you want to see where it could not align for no reason at all go down steps to a stair landing with a fountain. No matter how I tried new scan could not find its position. So I just started a new tour from there and then used merge.

@Wingman stairs are a nightmare in those merges!

I use MPEmbed to add an invisible 3D object that transports you to the other side of the divide by deep link in the object. You need two objects, one on each side of the divide.

Hi @Wingman,

Great that the merge facility came to the rescue.

It's always interesting to hear how others have overcome difficulties during capture.

I deliver certified training, and I have been known to set up some issues for the trainees to solve!

We learn far more quickly from our errors.

Nice tour BTW, somewhere to visit when we next visit the daughter-in-law's family.

Hi @Meidansha,

Do you have an example of the invisible 3D object process that you can share?
