| Georgia's First High School Real Estate WBL Program Published by: We Get Around Network | Industry News This came across my desk today and I thought it was interesting! Take a read and see below for questions.. Olivia J Price Real Estate has announced the launch of what it describes as Georgia's first high school Work-Based Learning (WBL) real estate program, created in partnership with Decatur High School and beginning in the 2026 to 2027 academic year. The program is built to connect classroom instruction with real industry experience, and it is worth a look for anyone in this community who has wondered where the next generation of agents, photographers, and proptech professionals is going to come from. Students who enroll earn Work-Based Learning credit while still in high school. The coursework covers residential, commercial, and new development real estate, along with financial literacy, entrepreneurship, marketing, and business fundamentals. Participants also prepare for the Georgia Real Estate Salesperson Exam, which means a graduating student can leave the program with a genuine head start on licensure rather than a vague sense that real estate might be interesting. The experiential side is where this gets relevant to us. Students receive mentorship from working real estate professionals and gain exposure through job shadowing, industry events, workshops, and office tours. Broker and Founder Olivia J. Price framed the goal as helping students "discover their potential" and building the confidence and professional experience the workforce actually asks for. Olivia J Price Real Estate is currently seeking partners: community partners, student mentors, speakers for career development sessions, hosts for job shadowing and office tours, internship providers, and sponsors for student resources, educational materials, transportation, and program activities. If you run a real estate media or 3D capture business in the Atlanta metro, a single afternoon showing students a scan workflow would probably land harder than any career day slide deck. | @TomSparks I would hope they actually have segments on working with mortgage brokers photographers, does and don't and expectations and clarity and not dependent on the job shadowing. But in class bring is real live examples form other trades to get both sides of the learning curve to be successful. | ||

| This is great. I believe the next phase of education will be less focused on the traditional college campus and more on work-based learning, where students earn college credit while gaining real-world experience. I'm working to develop a similar program for junior colleges that teaches practical skills such as local business marketing, AI integration for small businesses, reputation marketing, SEO, AI SEO, and many other digital marketing strategies that today's high schools and community colleges should be offering. For companies participating in work-based learning, I can see this becoming an incredible source of future employees. Rather than hiring someone with only classroom knowledge, businesses can help train students using real projects while identifying top talent before they graduate. Other companies in my industry have already partnered with universities and community colleges across the country. They've told me these programs have become one of their best recruiting channels for finding skilled, motivated employees. I truly believe this is the next evolution of both education and recruiting. Great post @TomSparks! |

| @GlennTremain I remember when I graduated college and applied for a job, everyone wanted "work experience" I was so frustrated. Everyone who graduated with me had basically the same experience I did (none). Programs like this, as you said, can be an incredible source for future employees. I agree, I think its great!! thanks for the comment Glenn! |

| Drexel University in Philadelphia was an early pioneer in this type of on-the-job work experience as part of the college experience. They've done this for decades I think and their graduates leave school with long resumes of actual work experience from real companies in the Philly area. I understand it's been very successful and their grads land jobs at a way higher rate than most schools. | ||
