Search, Jared explained, is no longer driven primarily by keywords. It is now an AI-first, entity-driven landscape where visibility depends on structured information, signals, freshness, and demonstrating real-world credibility across many online surfaces.

For tech-savvy real estate photographers, his message was urgent: the rules have already changed, and those who wait until “after the holidays” to adapt risk falling behind.

The big picture: search is now AI-first and entity-driven

Jared walked attendees through a fundamental shift happening across Google, AI Overviews, Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other LLM-powered platforms. Instead of ranking pages based on keyword relevance alone, search engines increasingly evaluate the relationships between entities:

▸ the service entity (real estate photography, drone, video, 3D tours)
▸ the business entity (your brand)
▸ the location entity (your city or service area)
▸ the “trust entity” (your reviews, mentions, and citations)
▸ the media entity (your geotagged photos, metadata, and video context)

These signals allow Google - and LLMs - to determine whether your business is credible, active, and locally relevant. Ranking is becoming less about word counts and more about how convincingly your brand is connected to its services and geography.

Why photographers must optimize differently in 2026

Jared emphasized that photographers must think beyond the traditional SEO formula of “keywords + backlinks.” Search visibility now depends on a blended mix of technical structure, consistent updates, and real-world proof.

He outlined key shifts that photographers need to adopt immediately:

Update your content often. LLMs heavily favor recently modified pages.
Use structured data (schema). LocalBusiness, Organization, FAQ, Profile Page, and Same As schema are essential.
Strengthen entity signals. Reviews should reference your city and services.
Optimize media metadata. Google reads EXIF, geotags, filenames, captions, and even background elements in videos.
Post frequently on your Google Business Profile. It is as important as your homepage.
Aim for visibility, not just clicks. Zero-click searches are increasing due to AI Overviews.

Photographers already create more fresh content per week than most small business categories.

Jared argued that using schema, metadata, and review strategies to structure this output provides a competitive advantage few are currently leveraging.

Blended content: the new standard

Gone are the days of thin landing pages and isolated blog posts. AI and modern search engines reward “blended content” — pages that combine:

AI, LLM visibility, and the future of discovery

Jared closed the session by explaining how AI is reshaping discovery:

▸ agents ask AI how to choose a photographer
▸ homeowners search conversationally
▸ AI Overviews rewrite what appears at the top of Google
▸ zero-click answers are rising sharply

Ranking in LLMs uses much of the same foundation as SEO, but with heavier weighting on:
