Just an update on the Pro2 donation Thank you to the We Get Around Network support and the support of @DanSmigrod and the help of Daniel at https://meidansha.com the camera went to a Japanese High School Photography program. I hope Daniel will jump in and talk a little more about it. It took jumping thru a few hurtles but we got it done. The camera is there safe and sound. Thanks to the support of Dan and Daniel.

Hello and thank you @Ron0987

The camera is being donated to a program where Japanese high school students scan their own schools. The schools are schools that will close in the coming years. The purpose is a combination of vocal education and recording city history.

Japan’s rural schools are shrinking with more and more families moving to the bigger cities. The first school that we scanned is no exception. Built for more than 1200 students in the early 80’s it now has just 200.

The facility is huge and sprawling and incredible bulky as it is built to withstand stand natural disasters such as earthquakes. I asked the students I was working with which rooms are haunted, but they said “all of them!”.

Nishinomiya City Kosan High was the first. Unfortunately Ron’s camera didn’t arrive on time so the students used my and my associates Pro3 cameras. We plan to do other schools all over the country to give the students an opportunity to use new tech and record the facilities that would otherwise be abandoned to history.

We received some local media coverage with a local blogger and the local newspaper sending a reporter. Two city councillors (graduates of the Kosan High) came too.

We ran into some issues when merging the space so after I return to the school to add a few scan points I will share the scan with you.
