Giraffe360 G-Splat Rendering for Higher-Quality Drone-Style/Cinematic Video

Hi All,

Imagine flying a drone through a home to create a video.

Now imagine the same fly-through video, but without the drone.

That's what is possible with Gaussian Splatting tech.

The easiest way to describe Gaussian Splatting -- magic -- and the easiest way to capture the Gaussian Splat -- to create the fly-through video -- likely will be the Giraffe PRO Camera scheduled to ship in late August 2025, according to Giraffe360.

What it is – Gaussian Splatting uses 3D Gaussians (position, rotation, scale, color, opacity) to create photorealistic point clouds, which can be turned into cinematic 3D videos and spatial tours.

Why the Giraffe PRO Camera matters – Gsplats require dense scans to work well. LiDAR 2.0 in the Giraffe PRO Camera captures 20× higher point density and 3× higher precision than the Giraffe360 GO Camera (for real estate agents), which is critical for Gsplat.

Capture method – The new auto-height tripod supports double scans at different heights to gather the depth and visual data Gsplat needs for maximum quality.

Outputs – From a single visit, photographers will be able to produce:

-- Cinematic Gsplat 3D videos
-- Spatial, immersive tours that go beyond traditional virtual tours
-- Enhanced point cloud visuals for architects and designers

Workflow – The scan is captured once, processed in the Giraffe360 Content Studio, and AI turns the point cloud into the Gsplat videos — essentially acting as a “virtual videographer” for you.
