Floorplans

From floor plan to Matterport space20992

Arseni private msg quote post Address this user
Hi.

I’ve been asked whether it’s possible to generate a Matterport space from a floor plan and information about materials, colors, textures, etc. I remember seeing that this was possible some time ago, and that there were providers who specialized specifically in this type of work, but I’m not sure what the current options are, which providers are available, or whether there is any software that facilitates this process (I imagine it could be done using 3D modeling software).

Thanks

I have had vendors do this in the past ~ Clients really need to have all their color letters and materials together ~ it is pricier than most clients are willing to spend in my experience I personally have only had 2 client to date willing to put in the work and $$$'s to do so.

@lilnitsch Wow, I just waisted 20 minutes comparing the two models. That's pretty sick. Just curious how many man hours that took getting all the details from the client. I can't imagine the process. Awesome job.

If you want to create any interior or exterior design Blender 3D will be the best for it. Plenty of tutorials, free assets and Blender 3D itself is free. Or you can get a paid library of assets like Blender Kit for a small monthly fee.

However keep in mind you will need a good GPU to work with Blender and most important to be able to render media from it faster. I have RTX 3060(12GB) and rendering a single 360 in 8000x4000 resolution can take 3 hours or more.

This one has been done in Blender even though it is not 360 render

Another option is to use online apps such as Home Styler or Coohom. They are limited in what they can do and amount of assets you can use but much easier to use and you do not need any powerful GPU because they render it for you. I do not remember though if you can get your design imported from them in any 3D format. I think one lets you do it but I do not remember which one.

This is a 360 render from Home Styler
