Hi everyone, I’ve been navigating the process of hiring reliable photo and video editors specifically for real estate content and it's been more challenging than I expected. I’ve tried freelance platforms like Fiverr and Upwork. While they’ve had decent results at times, consistency and quality control have been major issues. I’m currently exploring offshore companies that specialize in real estate photography and videography editing, especially in Latin America and India, but so far, it’s been hit or miss. I’d really appreciate any tips on: -How to properly screen and test editors (especially for real estate media) -Best practices when hiring remote editors from Latin America, India, or other offshore locations -How to structure the workflow to maintain quality and meet deadlines consistently If anyone has been through this process and found a solid system—or a reliable vendor—I'd love to hear your experience. Thanks in advance! |

We now have in house editors but when I was outsourcing I went on the facebook groups (there's a ton for real estate photo editing) and all you have to do is make a post and you'll get flooded with "pick me" responses. I would send out a sample batch to who you're considering and have them edit 5-7 photos, compare those with your regular editor or your edits... then choose who closely matches the style you want. when using offshore editors (or onshore) make it known that you'd like them to work off shift. for my company, we shoot during the day 8a-twilight, and I deliver images around 5p-9pm to my editors, they start editing and deliver the next morning. My agents have their images by 9a or 10am the following day regardless of the time we did the shoot the day prior. best of luck. |

Post something on Instagram with your pro photos and you will get dozens of them following you and offering their service. I may be made 40 posts on Instagram and every time I do it I get 3-5 editors following me and sending me messages offering their photo editing services. That's in addition to 2-3 spam emails I receive from these guys every day. I have personally never used any as I do not have a volume. They are cheap for sure but even with $5 fee to them I'd prefer to keep it in my pocket. I'd rather spend an hour doing it myself and keep $5 than pay $5 to someone just for me to seat and do nothing because somebody else is doing my work. It would be different if I had plenty of paid jobs to do and a lot of photos to process as they are for sure getting me much more than $5 per hour. |
