Video: How to Setup an automation with Homey Pro + SIMLAB SIM-ON + Matterport

Hi All,

This short SIMLAB video (2.5 minutes) shows how to setup an automation with Homey Pro smart home system + SIMLAB SIM-ON + Matterport.

Use Case Example

Set the living room temperature to:

🌙 68°F from 6 PM to 8 AM
🌞 75°F from 8 AM to 6 PM

(In addition to Matterport, you can also do this workflow with a NavVis scan or a SIMLAB Stages model.)

Once done, you can manage the entire workflow via the SIMLAB SIM-ON platform via a web browser.

SIMLAB SIM-ON acts as the control center for smart home automation, assets, and property data — accessible from any browser.

For clarification, this new SIMLAB SIM-ON integration brings together three key layers:

✅ Your smart home system (Homey)
✅ A photorealistic 3D environment (Matterport)
✅ A unified interface for automation, control, and property data (SIM-ON)

Learm more about this -- and other SIMLAB tech partner integrations at:

✅ www.SIM-ON.com/integration

Why This Matters to Matterport Service Providers

This SIMLAB SIM-ON + Homey integration gives you a powerful upsell:

✅ Turn static scans into dynamic, client-controlled environments
✅ Add value for property developers, facility managers, and smart home integrators
✅ Close deals faster by offering end-to-end automation that’s visually intuitive

Which of your current or prospective clients would jump at a feature like this?

Best,

Dan

P.S. SIM-ON offers a free plan so that you can take this workflow for a spin.

Does this need Homey Pro? I get "You have no Homeys" message with Homey Cloud account.

@monnce

Thank you for your question.

@SIMLAB emailed me:

Free License for Homey should work just like Homey Pro, as long as you have devices connected.

Does that help?

@SIMLAB also writes:

If you're asking about that message you see when you select Homey as your IoT provider, you don't have any devices hooked up to your account.

Can you let us know when you try this integration?

Best,

Dan

I have devices connected. They are from Fibaro. Maybe that is the issue as Simlab has dedicated connection for Fibaro. For example home appliances also do not work with their SmartThings connection.

@monnce

Thank you for your additional question. I reached out to SIMLAB ...

@SIMLAB replies:

The choice of integration depends on how your Fibaro devices are connected.

If your devices are linked to a Homey hub (and associated with your Homey user account), then you should select the Homey integration in SIM-ON.
However, if the devices are connected directly to a Fibaro Home Central (or Yubii) and your Fibaro/Yubii account, then please use the Fibaro (Nice Smart Home) integration.

As for SmartThings Home Appliances, unfortunately, SIM-ON currently does not support these devices.

[SIMLAB SIM-ON] only support IoT actuators through the SmartThings integration at this time.

@monnce, does that help?

Best,

Dan

No, it didn't. Maybe I will try to create new accounts in Homey and Simon and see if it works.
