The New York Times (13 September 2021) An End-to-End Guide to Photogrammetry with Mobile Devices

The New York Times (13 September 2021) Delivering 3D Scenes to the Web

Seems like news media would be smart to enable embedding Matterport (and other 3D/360 tour platforms within their editorial coverage).

Your thoughts?

As one who has offered photogrammetry developed 3D models as a service, I can vouch for their implied conclusion that it is a very time-consuming and intensive workflow imbued with a variety of technical jargon and complex software/programming.
The problem with their articles is that they don't distinguish between the types of deliverables and methods; i.e., geospatial - large-scale streaming imaging of a geographic area composed of aerial and/or satellite images (e.g., Cesium and Google Earth), 3D which is the mesh re-construction of an object or structure for external 360 viewing and 360 which is the photographic modelling of the interior of a space (ignoring the digital twin which is something of both). For that reason, Delivering 3D Scenes to the Web is a confusing article as it presents essentially a Matterport type model while the first article in the series sets about to describe how to use photogrammetry to build a 3D model which is an entirely different process and product.
