Hi All,

The WGAN Forum Question of the Day for Friday, 18 December 2020:

What's something unexpected that happened on a shoot and how did you handle it?

Happy holidays,

Literally my first commercial job (not a residence). I booked a job scanning a karate dojo.

I woke up in the middle of the night on the day of the job realizing that one entire side of the dojo was a wall of mirrors and how awful it would be to have the camera and tripod in almost every shot!

When I arrived I told the owner that I thought we could mask the reflection of the camera by using his punching bags. Unfortunately, he had lent several of them out for a competition.

He came up with the idea of simply taping some brown paper in a couple sections where we didn't have the punching bags. Not the most elegant solution but it worked out okay.

I lowered the camera slightly to avoid reflection. I think there's only one spot where you can see the legs of the tripod.
