Does anyone know how many users on different devices can be viewing a virtual tour of Matterport at the same time?
I mean, if there are 20,000 people at the same time entering a Matterport tour at the same time it will surely give an error, do you know what the limit of users is?

@AlanD

Welcome to the WGAN Forum.

What's your use-case that you might have 20,000 people looking at a Matterport tour at the same time?

Best,

Dan

@DanSmigrod You mean you don't get that kind of traffic on every single one of your models?

Well, one of my tours will be at an international event and more than 20 thousand users are expected, so I am calculating how many identical models I will have to place on the web so that they are not all in the same model at the same time.

I appreciate your opinion, thank you.

@AlanD

Thank you for the use case. Congrats on your international event. Can you share your model with us?

What is it about your model that 20,000 users would simultaneously sign on to view it?

My opinion is that Matterport can handle whatever traffic that you can generate. I recall that Matterport uses AWS for hosting. I could imagine that Matterport has enabled whatever-it-takes-virtual-servers to handle the traffic.

Does that help?

Best,

Dan

There is no limit to the number of simultaneous viewers. Matterport answered this a while back.

There is no limit per tour for Matterport. It does not operate that way.
When viewers are inside some tour all that a Matterport server does is sending them a bunch of images as tiles to represent each viewer field of view. And these requests can come to the Matterport server simultaneously from 1000s of unrelated Matterport tours.

No need to make any duplicates in order to make it faster-it won't change anything. Viewers from each duplicate will be sending requests for images to the same server and it doesn't matter if 20 000 requests come from one tour or 20 requests come from 1000 tours.
