If it is empty offices Or warehouse we would charge £1400-1500 and include one gear hosting with that

It really depends on how open or cut up it is..... but let's assume it's regular office space.... 5¢ s/f with 6 months of hosting.

If it's lots of little rooms or lots of separate suites, than it may be more like 7¢

If it's all empty spaces and goes quickly then I may go down to 3¢.

I would also be pushing DSLR HDR photos and aerial photos as add-ons to the sale.

One model, or will two connected via Mattertag get it done? Are you allowed to work anytime, or at only specific times? In terms of necessary accuracy (and quantity of scans), has your client specified what they intend to do with the finished work? Marketing, or AEC/BIM? If you can sort out quantity of scans required to satisfy the intended use, you can better estimate the necessary investment of time and bid accordingly.

I would ask 3500 AUD for that but this is just a base price for furnished space but without people. If it is empty of furniture and people I would give a 10% discount minimum. If there are people working all the time I would add at least 20% surcharge.

I have stopped believing that anybody can control people in a space where I scan. I have been given a lot of these promises even from people I know very well. Nobody is following them actually for the whole scanning time. At maximum it lasts 10 minutes then people just mind their own business and duties and I am left with a lot of rescanning because somebody has been caught in a frame, creating ghosts or unwanted mesh in a hallway.

I am clueless on pricing this.... 25k commercial space, 2 story, some offices with open space . It will be empty ( thank goodness! )
I am at a loss with giving them a price. Thank you for the recommendations in pricing!! Appreciate it!

At the end of the day it comes down to revenue/hour.

So take travel time, overhead, actual shoot time, any rework you think you'll need... and come up with hours required.

I'd say this is 5 to 6 hours tops.

You should have some sort of $$$/hr you want to make. Your price should be higher than that number or at that number..

For example: I said I'd start at $1250 (.05/sf) At 5 hours this is $250/hr. That's above my $/hr target so I'm good. If they come back and ask me to do it for $1100 I'd hesitate and say hes. I'm still above my $/hr and making good money. I might ask for better payment terms or payment upon posting, etc as something for something.

If it took me 10 hours, I'd be making $125/hr which is still okay.....

You need to figure out what your $/hr, $/day, and $/wk goals are. It will help you have confidence in your pricing and guide you in negotiating.

My pearls of wisdom:
- An unsold hour is worth $0.
- Working for ¢ may add up to a $, but it chokes out $$$.
- Strive to be somewhere in between.
