Hi Guys,

As an engineering MEP consulting company, we plan to buy one or many structure sensor for our needs.
The other competing firm products such as F..RO ou L..ICA are a way more expensive. We just need to scan some technical rooms (AHU, boilers, switchgear room).

Is the famous Matterport sensor accurate enough for this task?

Than we plan to import the .obj file it into REVIT software and use Pointsense ou Edgewise adds-in.

Thanks for your help.

Why don't you import an obj file and try it out?

Thanks for all your answers.

I am looking for an MEP (mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) content. This kind of .obj file are not available for download on matterport website. Thus I cannot verify if the sensor is enough accurate so that we can buy it.

Additionally, when I import the sample .obj file from matterport website into REVIT, an indexation process is created (.obj  .rcp file). Then, when I import the .rcp file, an error occurs and I cannot open with REVIT or ReCap software. I do not have the same problem when I use a point cloud sample file from the other competing company.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks.
Rom

Maybe you should get a referral from Dan for a Matterport Service Provider in your area of France and have them shoot something for you. Then you would know for sure.
