MLS not allowing Matterport logo1146

WCMOORE private msg quote post Address this user
Can someone please help me figure out how to or if it is possible to remove the Matterport logo from the 3D showcase? The local Multi List System (MLS) will not allow the use of the 3D showcase with the logo on there.

You can use WP3D to help. I recommend you verify the written rules for your MLS virtual tours. My MLS says the tour cannot be affiliated with the agent or brokerage as it is neutral, but the maker or manufacturer of the tour can have their logo.

Hey guys..yeah, hopefully you guys don't see me as a broken record here & always soliciting. This topic seems like one where our solution really does fit the bill though, right? In any case, thanks for the plug @CarlosFHdz!

Exactly as Carlos mentions, sometimes there's just a misunderstanding from someone at the MLS. That said though, I have heard of some that are extremely strict and won't allow anyone's branding (agent or maker/manufacturer).

In any case, our WordPress plugin, WP3D Models, solves this for you no matter how fussy your MLS is. You'd purchase the plugin, install it on your (WordPress) site, and then any model you add can be presented in a number of different "views", including "no brand" views that are MLS compliant.

NOTE:
The following examples are coming from the WP3D Models plugin, but running off of our "wp3dmodels.com" domain. The exact same options would be available to you, on your domain, once installed there.

Standard Unbranded Page:
Displays model, along with entered text content, map, etc.

http://wp3dmodels.com/3d-model/wilma-condo-vacation-rental/nobrand/

Unbranded "Fullscreen":
Includes just the model & simple header info/share options.

Hope this helps!

I use Ron's plugin and highly recommend it to others.

However, do check out his examples and see that they aren't completely free of Matterport branding. Even with Ron's plugin, you still get the "Powered by Matterport" while the tour is loading, as well as the stupid stupid stupid "Terms" link (SIDE RANT: that Matterport refuses to get rid of even though we rant and rave about how stupid stupid stupid it is to show the terms of use to viewers of the tours instead of just requiring those of us who create the tours to agree to the terms of use for each model we upload.)

You might also point out to your MLS that other virtual tour solutions (aka slideshows with music) aren't entirely free of branding either. Because any virtual tour lives on the internet and has a URL. And URLs (like matterport.com!) are branding.

Thanks @craigsauer, and yes, you're absolutely right...you'll see the Matterport logo when the model is loading, after a user has clicked on the "play" button.

There's currently no way around that without breaking the Matterport terms that Craig notes.

Other agents have mentioned that what WP3D Models (v2) has done does meet the needs of their MLSs because the Matterport logo/branding wasn't visible upon initial load of the page.

That said, it sounds like there's a pretty big range re: what is acceptable (between various MLSs) around the country and it'd be wise to share one of the provided examples with your MLS to see if they'll let it through or not.

Thx all!

Hey @WCMOORE, how big is the MLS organization you are dealing with? Is there any possibility of giving the group a call and talking the logo issue over with them? Some of the MLS groups have rules (and admins) that pick at inconsequential nits. I have not had any issues with any of the local MLS groups on Matterport logo-related issues but I have had similar issues that were resolved with a phone call or two.

@WCMOORE

I reached out to Matterport about this MLS challenge and they let me know:

"MLS’s do this from time to time and a call from us has fixed the issue before."

Matterport will reach out to you and to your local MLS.

Please let us now once this challenge is resolved (and any learning from the experience that might be helpful ...)

Best,

Dan

P.S. Hi all ... if you experience this challenge with your MLS, please email support@matterport.com so they can help solve the puzzle.
