|Great idea. For many of us in the midwest, the winter months are slower so this allows some cashflow in a cashflow strapped time. You can do this anytime before the end of the year and tailor it to what you offer and your own needs.
Being in the youth sports industry, there is an industry disrupter right now called Photoday. Instead of parents paying for the photos in advance and getting whatever they get, they now have the chance to see the photos before they buy them. One of the keys to this system is called Advance Pay option. Example: Parents pay $40 ahead of time for a $40 off their photos. These are structured in such a way that more you spend ahead of time, the more perks you get like free shipping, free social image photo, free high res download, etc. It puts money in the photographers' pocket ahead of time and parents feel like they are getting a deal.
How many of you get gift cards that you never use. It's not that we don't want parents to use their advance pay coupons but human nature being the way it is, there is always a percentage that won't use it(I have so many gift cards that I haven't used). The lesson of the story: People pay you ahead of time for future services and they don't use their coupon. Money in your pocket and you never had to produce and pay for anything.
