About 12-13 minutes to the end of Dee's video today [28 May 2019] on MOUG Facebook she was talking about possibility to have multiple versions of the same room in a single tour and she even said you can switch between them to see what it looked before and now. She did say though it can be done through contacting support.

I was trying to catch up with her to get more details while video was streaming but it was too late.

Here is a link to that video

It seems to be possible to do but why such a great feature cannot be implemented so there is no need to contact support to do it.

That will add even more value to Matterport tours as they can be used to track a property condition over time to help with insurance and bond claims. Also it can be used in construction where you can scan the same object many times over some period of time and see its progress.

Dee, can you please provide more details on this great feature and whether it is always going to work through contacting support or Matterport considers to add it to their software in a near future?

Hi Wingman, the Captur3d platform provides this feature as a 'multi-tour' option, where you can integrate multiple scans into the same iframe - having a named menu overlay/navigation system in the tour taking you to each seperate scan of the room.

You can sign up here for a free trial of the platform.

You're also welcome to book in a convenient time for a brief (15 mins) online demo of the platform through my calendar link here.

Thanks,

Alex

Sorry Alex, I am not looking for any third party solution at the moment. I believe Dee was talking about it working in their own Matterport player.

Thank you for sharing this capability. Even though@Wingman is not seeking a third-party solution at the moment, others reading this may.

@Wingman

While you are interested in Matterport, some may find the Cupix side-by-side comparison helpful.

WGAN-TV Short Story #75 - Cupix for AEC: Comparing the BIM 3D Model Side-by-Side with Construction Progress (to Save Clients Money). Demo by Cupix Head of Product Paul Collart

In this under 3 minute WGAN-TV Short Story from nine months ago, you will see:

✓ Side-by-Side 3D Tour BIM Model Compared to Construction Progress
✓ How relevant trades can this Cupix tool
✓ Compare time frames (construction progress)
✓ Visual inspection of what was designed and what was built
Why this matters: learn how this Workflow saves the Client money

You can shoot a Cupix 3D Tour with any 360º camera.

Best,

Dan

This would be a fantastic feature! There's so many of our spaces which could benefit from having this, from multi-use venues to construction as you say Wingman. So much better than dropping in 360s of the spaces to showcase previous layout / state of repair.
