Mac-14 doesn't fit Desmond DLEV-1908

jimfelder private msg quote post Address this user
I purchased the recommended Sunwayfoto MAC-14 and the Desmond DLEV-1. The Mac-14 will not fully screw onto the Desmond leveler due to the knob on it. Do I need to send it back and get something different?

If it's listed as recommended, I figured there was a workaround.

Thank you

Jim

@jimfelder you do not need the Sunwayfoto MAC-14 with the Desmond DLEV-1.

Mount the camera directly to the Desmond DLEV-1.

And, welcome to the MUG Forum

Dan

Yes, I wondered if I did or not. So I usually just screwed it directly to my tripod. Now I can just put the leveler in between.

Wait, I won't have a bubble level if I eliminate the bracket.

So I should get the Stanley Shock Resistent Level? Place that on top of the camera?

Found this level that goes between head and tripod:

@jimfelder

Please do not buy this item. The camera will make it hard to see the bubbles. The height of the tripod will also make it hard to see the bubbles.

Stick with the items on my gear and accessories shopping list. The link is below the map.
