![]() WGAN Question of the Day Just curious how everyone handles misstated sq footage when providing 3D virtual tours. I ran into an issue the past few days where my team and I were scanning what we were told was about 350k sq ft of a hotel. It turns out it was closer to 500k sq ft. Still waiting on final numbers but one floor we were told was 40k sq ft and it was 120k sq ft. Without telling you how I handled it, i'm curious to see how everyone else would handle this? (I don't want to know pricing so don't tell me that), just what you would do in this situation. | When scheduling with clients I advise them that the final invoice is subject to change based on total square footage recorded by IGUIDE. I have yet to have any client disagree or refuse to the adjustment. I think it is in how the expectations are set. That being said, 350k to 500k-SqFt is quite a discrepancy and I imagine that was a difficult conversation. I would be curious as to their response and outcome. | ||

| We do not publish and prices because there are too many variables that influence the amount of time / labor required in scanning, or for that matter, traditional photography as well. 50,000 sf of open warehouse space can be scanned in less than 1/4 the time (and number of spins) of 50,000 sf of built-out offices with rooms, furniture and cubicles. They are two completely different animals. When a client calls, I don't propose a price without: Square footage Description of the contents of the space, walls, furnishings, etc Location (to know drive time) Availability of space for access (may charge extra for overnight work) I also require that the client provide the name and cell number for a person who will be either on-site or on-call to address surprises that arise like locked rooms, no power or lights, security issues. Doing all these things has worked out well and, like @ToddsFotos relates, I find clients are respectful of the work being done and are cooperative to rate adjustments if the related specs turn out to be different, requiring more time on site. Most people are empathic and appreciate professional communication prepping a project. I've been doing MP for a decade now and have had "issues" less than 1% of the time. |

| @DanSmigrod I advised them as soon as I saw we were going over the agreed sq ft and told them I could stop at the agreed sq ft or continue to scan and give them a complete tour for a re-negotiated rate. They agreed to the new rate. | ||
