Hello - thank you WGAN for being a place of specific information, knowledge and trust. I would like to explore the idea of providing 360 time lapse photography for construction and insurance in Canada. Would anyone be willing to share their understanding, process, systems and software to a neophyte? Cheers and thanks again. | ||

Had a potential client mention the timelapse for builder's yesterday so I will follow this one. It would be interesting to see how people integrate timelapse footage of the interior/exterior of a building into a virtual tour. In particular 3D Vista and Matterport. |

First potential solution that came to my mind is 3D Gaussian Splatting - a guy here in Berlin is developing a software called Gauzilla that has this 3D Timelapse Feature built-in. More info here A more simple approach works with 360 panoramas in 3DVista with a feature called "live panorama" - very simple to build - here is one example from 3DVista and one example from me showcasing different backgrounds for a 3D Virtual Event Environment. 3DVista also offers 360Splitscreen to compare different stages. Splitscreen also works with 3DGaussian Splats in 3DVista. |

Thanks @MeshImages. I have been following both Gauzilla and have used the live panorama feature before on 3D Vista. I was thinking more along the lines of video but I wasn't aware that Gauzilla could do something like this. One thing about Gauzilla. I don't know how to install the free version. I need to use Githiub but it seems there are some prerequisites. If you are familiar with the process it would be great if you could show me a break down of how to get it up and running. |

@Meidansha I had access to the web-version of Gauzilla about 9 months ago. But I just checked and I have no access to the documentation in notion anymore. I am no coder, therefore I would try to get it running with the help of claude.ai, which does a very good job on code instructions. I successfully installed the Matterport DL download application with the help of Claude yesterday - but after successfully installing it, I chatted on the legal consequences of an illegal download and then decided to simply ask for an access to the Matterport Habitat Library for some more detailed Matterport test material - i will go the legal way ![]() |

@tboyle look at this software clickable text I was looking at it for a client in the free version you can actually build a timeline by duplicating several photos on each day and manual adjusting the time. My client did not want to pay the bill so I did not proceed but this was the best software, if you can get photos from the same location. I was using a DJI drone from overhead. I will explain about the duplicate photos to get one video you need a minimum of 124 photos. So for my project I only had 10 photos so I had to create 124 photos with different dates out of 10 photos. So it can be time consuming, and I guess you maybe able to set it up to create it run it thru ChatGPT to duplicate them and date label them with criteria set. |
