Remember MatterPak Attack? The game that let you shoot zombies in your Matterport scans? Well, a lot of people loved the game so we want to flesh it out into a fully polished game.

MatterPak Attack Case Study

The game will work similarly as before, however, it is NOT sponsored by Matterport this time, so scans obtained by any means are perfectly suitable to use so long as it is a .obj file (although we do have plans to support other file types in the future).

The key goal of Zombies IRL is for players to create their own levels in their own scans, the share them with the rest of the community to play. So, we have added a level editor where you can easily place custom 3D objects, adjust lighting, utilize puzzle mechanics (like locks and keys), indicate zombie spawn locations, and more.

This may all sound intimidating and that you may need to be an experienced game designer to make a level, but Zombies IRL is designed to be extremely easy to use and will have tools to make the design process as quick and painless as possible.

We are also adding the ability to craft weapons from items in your environment. Have a PVC pipe in your bathroom, some compressed air/propane in your garage, and soda cans in your fridge? Then combine them into a junk launcher to shoot the zombies with!

We have already done preliminary work, but need funding to finish the game. So, we are humbly asking WGAN users to spread the word and help fund the project on Kickstarter and doing so will act as preordering the game (at the proper amount pledged).
