How was this multi-floor Matterport tour created?17772

I came across this model on the Matterport website and cannot figure out how they scanned these multi-floors into 1 model without any interconnecting spaces (stairs).

Either they scanned using the fire stairs to each level and trimmed them out in post using the 'trim' tool or their internal dev team stitched this together manually which would be a total misrepresentation of the capabilities of a standard Matterport model.

Any ideas?

Hi @Marcel,
I believe they got Thing T Thing from the Addams Family to spirit the camera between floors.

@Marcel

Great question ...

How this Matterport tour was created is discussed in this WGAN Forum discussion:

=> Any Matterport Pro3 Camera Digital Twin Samples?

@Gladsmuir

Ha! Ha!

Best,

Dan

They did not need to scan all 70 sets of stairs. They could scan a ground floor, then stairs there and then jump to stairs on 26th floor to enter it from a stairs area and repeat the same to go to 70th floor. Matterport won't care how many floors have been skipped as long as areas where stairs are are identical on each floor.

Only in matterport is a 70-story building seen as only 4!

This scan is awesome, but it's not possible without the help of matterport's stitching service even if you have the pro 8 camera!

I agree with Marcel.
