@MeshImages Do you know how to import a FBX/OBJ file into 3D Vista or how would you proceed to use the FBX or OBJ interactive animation in a 3D Vista tour?

Hi All,

I noticed the above question in this WGAN Forum discussion (and moved it to its own discussion).

Best,

Dan

I have gone from a Sketchfab model to a Matterport dollhouse and back using Sketchfab Annotations and Mattertags but that is not the same as adding a 3D object (such as a 3D model of a piece of furniture) into a 360 tour.
I saw Eric Tsai demonstrate how to add, place and size a 3D object into an Asteroom tour in his Asteroom Editor tutorial with Dan, so I know it can be done on that platform. But I was also wondering if & how it can be done in 3DVista since 3DVista offers some features that Asteroom doesn't [yet].

@DanSmigrod you cannot directly import 3D objects into 3DVista as it is panorama tour software. It works with panorama images only. But you can integrate 3d objects or 360 objects via web platforms like sketchfab or webrotate360 via so called skin elements.

I have read in FB forums, that 3DVista is working on a 3d dollhouse solution comparable to asteroom or metareal or Matterport, but no release yet.

So, for now we can only work with 3D objects in webframes with navigation features via annotations (with deep links) as @EaglePrecision stated before.

As Meshinages says there’s no way to import a 3D object directly. I work from sketchup so I bring them into that model and then export into Vray or Twinmotion depending on what output I need.

There is no sign of 3Dvista being able to work in 3D space like metareal or matterport. it has been talked about for over 12 months and was due in Q3/2020 which has just finished. I have been asking (nagging) on the forum for weeks now but I can’t even get a response from them. Best to assume that they have probably discovered they can’t do it or it’s too complex and they aren’t admitting to that. My reason for their silence on this topic is speculative but their non-response is deafening. What else should we think?
