I've done it twice using GeoCV, shooting original panos, marking the location, and then returning later in different light. But it does require precision. I used both a bubble level and a digital compass to level and aim the camera's direction the same. This was a very cool experiment, using GeoCV's power to produce a very creative walkthrough.
