Are you tired of your Ricoh Theta Z1 or other 360 cameras dying in the middle of a shoot? Can't access the charging port at the bottom? I purchased a thread extender and solved my issue. check the video out |

These are nice however, they can also be brittle. I lost a Z1 in a lake on a dock when a boat went by and tipped my monopod over last summer. Lucky enough I was shooting a Zillow 3D home tour at the time and was able to complete the tour on my spare Z1. I believe in redundancy and carry 2 of everything on my shoots

The thread extender can be brittle ? As far as the dock I would have weighted down the monopod. Yes. Carrying spare equipment is a good thing.

The Theta X moved the charging port to the side and also added the ability to swap batteries. I suspect we will see a similar design in the Z1 replacement along with the touch screen and GPS sensors when it finally rolls out

@ScanYourSpace It was a lot of movement on the dock ~ I typically use plate weights at the base of my monopod when shooting outdoors |

This is a must have for the Z1, if you have a large space to capture or have multiple shoots.
