Would seem like whatever you shoot, HD or 4K UHD, it would simply require setting it with a slight "enlargement" or "zoom-in" base setting, so the mouse movement has a little extra 'overscan' room to roam. So clever. Gotta probe this.

Matterport Scanning Orientation

rhelling

3 daysHome3D (4415): Simple procedure to follow so that the minimap orientation is set conveniently for the iPad or phone screen. The orientation of the minimap in a MP scan is set in stone by the first scan you capture. Good news, if you don't like the first scan's orientation, just delete it and do a second one. When setting up to capture a space, assess which direction is the "longest" whether north-south or east west across the building...

Realsee: Galois P4 vs. Matterport Pro3 Point Cloud Tested for AEC Work

TomSparks

2 monthsCasey_Clark (46): Hi Sven, I’ve looked into the image quality side of the Galois cameras before. From what I understand, the Galois P4 uses 24K panoramic imagery, while the 16K panorama option is from the Galois M2. So the 24K output from the P4 is not an upscaled version of the 16K image — they are from two different camera systems. I think a side-by-side comparison between the P4, Pro3, and a terrestrial laser scanner would be a great idea. Looking at both...
